Elizabeth A. Donovan
Elizabeth A. Donovan's practice consists primarily of complex civil litigation with an emphasis in business and commercial disputes. Mrs. Donovan also advises her clients on business transaction matters such as entity selection and formation, corporate governance, commercial lease agreements, the procurement of trademarks and copyrights, licensing, and other business contracts. Mrs. Donovan also has experience in the defense of insurance litigation, construction actions, personal injury matters, and other general civil litigation.
Mrs. Donovan was admitted to the California Bar in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998, and her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, in 2001. While in law school, she was awarded the Henry Yuen fellowship for Internet law and Technology. Mrs. Donovan is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
Some of Mrs. Donovan's noteworthy matters include successfully defeating an anti-SLAPP motion on the grounds that the speech at issue was commercial speech; representing multiple pest-control operators in the procurement of product registration with the State of California, Department of Pesticide Registration; assisting a San Diego-based company with the acquisition and expansion of restaurant in Del Mar; and handling general matters for a San Diego company that manufactures homeopathic remedies.
